Welcome to Wrexham. Wrexham is a working class town in northern Wales, United Kingdom and home to the Red Dragons, the world’s third oldest professional football club. In 2020, Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) decided to buy the team, hoping to turn the struggling club around despite having no experience in football or working together.
Welcome to Wrexham follows the pair as they learn how to navigate the responsibilities of club ownership and the expectations of a town counting on them to bring hope and change. It premieres on August 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX and streams the next day on Hulu.

Ten Percent Happier with Dan Harris. A journalist who had a panic attack on live national TV, Dan Harris decided to try meditation and wrote a best-selling book that led to this podcast of the same name. Episodes feature talks with meditation teachers and science based techniques to help with anxiety, productivity and relationships. Dan’s approach is that happiness, like fitness, is a skill that can be trained. New episodes come out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for free.

The Other Opponent: The Mental Health Challenges of Professional Tennis. Tennis superstars aren’t the only players who face mental and emotional pressures. In this first-person account, Brittany Collens describes what a typical tour cycle feels like for athletes who, like her, are trying to move up the ranks in professional tennis. It’s an interesting look at the realities of life on the road for players ranked outside the top 250.
Thanks for the tips on Welcome to Wrexham (always enjoy Ryan Reynolds) and the podcast. I plan on enjoying both!
Love 10% Happier podcast. I binge it when I’m doing the 12 hour drive between PHX and SF. Great recommendation Melissa!
